Pregnancy is an important time in for any woman, and it is especially important for a witch. During both of my pregnancies I felt a very special connection to my unborn children and took full advantage of using magickal elements to prepare, and experience the births. There are many special rituals that can be used to get pregnant, throughout your pregnancy and to bless and protect your child.If you are trying to get pregnant there are a few things you can magickally do to speed the process (while of course exploring medical techniques as well). For this spell, you’ll need a leather pouch and small stone of each of these gems: amethyst, clear quartz crystal, chyrsoprase and aventurine. Fill your bag with these stones. When you are trying to conceive, wear the pouch around your neck and also place some fresh rosemary underneath the bed. After you become pregnant, keep the pouch with you to ease labor pains and help to bring a safe delivery for your new baby. Make sure to give the stones away before the baby is one month old. They can be given to a pregnant friend, or someone who is also trying to conceive.
You can also perform rituals during your pregnancy to have a healthy nine months. These should never be used in substitute for medical visits but should be seen as a supplement. After all, medical care is a blessing from the God and Goddess and should not be ignored. The following ritual should be preformed at noon on a Monday during the Waxing or Full Moon. Burn cinnamon incense, to bring good fortune, health and protection. Use an orange for reproductive health, silver elements for female powers and a purple candle to increase feminine energy and bring harmony. Place pictures of healthy children and mothers on your altar. You can also include any pregnancy and childbirth books that you have as well as your birth plan.
Open your ritual as you normally would, except face the West since this is the direction of women’s health. Invoke any appropriate deities (Demeter and Gaia are good choices). Look at the items on your altar and visualize all of the women and children who experience birth in a positive way around the world. This about how pregnancy and childbirth are totally natural processes and that our species has survived for thousands of years because of these processes. Speak to the spirits that you have asked to enter the circle. Tell them that you are ready to have your child, that you have learned what you needed to about pregnancy and childbirth. Emphasize that you are following your doctor or midwife’s orders. Repeat at the end of your ritual “I am healthy. My child will be health” seven times. Thank the deities and close your circle.
There are also several rituals that can be used after the birth of your child to welcome the baby into the pagan community. Most common is the Wiccaning, which is the Pagan equivalent of baptism. During a Wiccaning, the priest and priestess of your circle will present the baby to the community and ask the God and Goddess to bless and protect your child. There are also naming ceremonies that can be incorporated into a Wiccaning, or used by itself.
Using your faith to bring health and peace to your unborn baby is the first step you can take to mother your child. Just because you can’t see your unborn baby doesn’t mean that they can’t feel your emotional and spiritual presence. You provide your baby with so much more than just physical existence. Think about this as you go through your pregnancy and birth, and you will have a healthy and happy child.

Blessed be Rose. Thank you for this information. I have a dear friend whom is like a daughter to me. She just found you that she is spotting and with twins. I was looking for something to do for her. She is Christian and I am a recovering one (lol) I’ve welcomed myself back to where I knew I have belonged since a child. I am a Witch and have embraced that part of me.
Therefore, I was trying to find information on making an alter for her. She went to the doctor last night and they told her there is nothing she can do to stop a miscarriage if she is going to have one. I agree, however…I also know that she’s going to carry these two to term. I think it sucks that the fear was put in her. I told her the information I’ve been “told” to tell her. I want to create an alter for her and focus on Gaia during her pregnancy. If you have any other tips I would love to hear from you.

hello!!!am trying to get pregnant since 2 years but not succeed. i lost my little daughter when she i day old and since that day am unable to conceive. i feel very dissapointed and stress. am praying to god so that i can save my marriage .many people dont talk to me as i dont have a baby why they do this which sin i have done that god is punishing me like this.am tired of this life .am just hoping to be pregnant sooon.

Janamie, I know a spell for that. Its called the try again spell. What you do is be thankful for having a beautiful little girl, then once that has been completed you try again. Wicca isn’t like that. We are thankful for what we get. What we are lucky to have. Blessed be.

This is a reply for Jacky. Pregnancy before a handfasting!?!?!? You are confusing Wicca with the Abrahamic religions here Jacky. Such a notion would represent the very anithesis of Wicca. In fact the early Wiccan coven referred to themselves most frequently as a “fertility cult”. Many of them were polygamous or at the very least practiced open sexual practices. Wiccan ethics concern taking responsibility for your own actions NOT a rule book to be followed (like commandments). The closest thing to a code of ethics in Wicca is the rede “do what thou wilt and harm none”. Therefore if it would harm you or others to have a baby before your wedding then that is a consideration, but each situation is individual. I hope this clears it up for you Jacky and I suggest that you refocus your study of Wicca, because this concept of fertility and do what thou wilt and harm none, is really pretty basic Wiccan information.
